Mr. Cameron's birth story...

My midwife told me that I should write down his birth story because she thinks it was pretty amazing. I guess at a meeting of midwifes and physicians they were talking about his birth and how amazing it was and how if I hadn't done what I did the outcome would have been so different. I am not quite sure why she thinks his birth is so amazing but I guess I'll write it down for you guys!

I had been having pretty powerful pains, mostly in the lower back, off and on for quite some time but nothing serious. And then on Wednesday some type of fluid began leaking. At first I thought I might be going into labor but when no consistent pains began I realized that it must not be my water. Thursday morning I went in for my checkup and mentioned it to my midwife but she didn't seem to worried. After checking me she said that I was only dilated to a 1 and if I wanted I could try Castor oil on the weekend but it would only work if my body was ready. Friday evening Court and I headed to Walgreen's to purchase some Castor oil and early Saturday morning Court cooked up some eggs with Castor oil in them.
Oh man, just the thought of those eggs is making me feel sick!! He cooked them REALLY long and added cinnamon to "hide the Castor oil taste." They looked like turkey gizzards. I barely chocked them down without throwing up. *shudder*

I then went and laid down for a nap since I hadn't slept well the night before because I was still leaking fluid and was in the uncomfortable overdue position. While napping Marianne called twice and the last time I was finally awake enough to answer the phone. She said that she had talked to some people and really thought I should go in and have my midwife make sure it wasn't my water leaking because if it was it could be very dangerous. So I called and Nancy said that she'd be home for the next couple hours so Court and I got ready and headed to the birth center. She said my water sac was intact, I was still only dilated to a one, but she wanted to do another stress test even though she had just done one on Thursday.
During the test we noticed that his heart rate was going down after mild contractions. She decided to send us to the hospital for another stress test and as we headed there I started having contractions although I didn't realize that's what they were at the time! At the hospital admitting desk the lady thought I was in labor, but I assured her I wasn't actually in labor just having pains since I was overdue.

We headed upstairs for the stress test and just after changing into the hospital gown and getting hooked up to the stress test my water broke! The decision was made that we would stay at the hospital since his heart rate was still doing strange things. Marianne picked up our stuff from our house and came to the hospital to meet us. I was having really bad back labor and Marianne was a LIFE SAVER!! I ended up having to stay on my left side and be on oxygen for most of  the labor due to his heart rate. There were many times during the 8 1/2 hours that nurses would come running in my room telling me I had to breath deeper. I managed to dilate a cm every hour or so...and so at about ten the doctor came in and stayed. He just sat and watched the monitor and they would continue to tell me BREATHE Lynn Breathe every few minutes would Cam's heart rate would dip down. At one point I was trying so hard to do what they said, deep breath in the nose, then out the mouth...and the nurse came in and told me I was hyperventilating and I needed to calm down. Man these people should try going through hard contractions with no real space between them WHILE TRYING TO BREATH DEEP!...oh and without any pain med's!!! I remember there near the end I knew the OR was prepped for us. I had heard them outside the room calling people into the hospital just in case. I knew that this could easily go C-section now, and I remember thinking I had wasted so much time in tremendous pain, I had even wasted weeks being pregnant. If I was going to have a C-section I could of had him earlier! :) But I still tried so hard to focus my way through contractions breathing as deep as I could so that my babies heart would do good. Eventually the Dr. said we were going to try and get him out with the help of the vacuum. So they got me ready and then they said on the next contraction PUSH...wow, I didn't know you could push like that. I only had three tries and I gave it my all. I remember thinking my head was going to blow up...my Douala later told me that she got worried too at one point because my head was all purple and blue. :) Anyways he was born with his cord wrapped around his neck, so they cut it before he was even fully born...if I understand correctly, and when he came out he was taken to the other side of the room were they gave him some oxygen and I eventually heard little baby noises. Wow, that made me glad! The little while he wasn't making noise I was so worried!!!

A side note, I remember being in labor and the pains were coming so fast and so hard and just then Court's family called...first my phone then Court's phone. And I didn't want him to leave my side so I told him just turn your phone off. We'll call them once he is here. Well...a little while later Court said he had to use the restroom...I remember telling him to hurry up because I needed him...later I find out that Marianne sent him to the bathroom to call his family and tell them to call mine. :) I thought something was up but he was so quiet in their that I decided he must have truly just needed to use the restroom.

Anyways...hope this makes sense...I might try and go through and edit later...but right now I am to tired. :)

overdue...

Just wanted to give you all a quick update...I am now overdue if you go by my ultrasound due date, although if we go by my original due date of august 1st I guess he has one more day before he can truly be considered late. :)

We went to the mall for a walk today and a sales person was trying to get us to come over and he asked when my due date was, it was pretty funny to see his expression when I told him yesterday. hehe I was hoping more people would ask, just so I could see their reaction. It's funny to me how many people seem to think that once you get this far along you should just sit at home...I want to be moving and trying to get to him out!! :)

Anyways hope to be able to post soon with pictures of a baby boy! I cannot wait to let you all know his name!! :)

pictures of our place

At the apartment I discovered that I loved being able to have flowers of my own and so we ended up with a collection of pots on our patio. Sadly though I am not that great at watering and so most of my plants ended up dying there.  When we moved here I came up with all these great plans for making my house look so cute on the outside...but in reality haven't done that great of a job accomplishing it. :)
The first things I planted (some bulbs...can't remember what) I accidently planted them sideways or upside down...something like that...OOPS!! And this flower you see below...it is one of the few living flowers planted in front of my house. :) I kept forgetting to water!!
Here is the other flower in the front that has survived my gardening skills
at least so far!

And I was super excited to see that the hydrangea out front was begginning to do something!! The one in the back is still just a leafy gross bush. :)
We have a couple rose bushes a very tiny little start in the front that just put out a tiny little flower and then a larger one in the back which I took this picture from. Then one more in the very back against the fence. They are pretty but this one by the back of the house really smells like an old lady rose. (No offense to any lovers of that rose smell!! )
Then we have our nice apple tree which has cute green apples, I tried one off the ground last night and it was crunchy and really yummy!!
And then we have our apricot tree which doesn't seem to have any fruit on it, but it has some super cute red tipped leaves, that's for sure!!!
And then our weird apple. Hmm, interesting!
And then we have our tiny cherry tree which has given us like 20 cherries!  The big one didn't make it on here because it doesn't have any fruit on it (well it does have one or two but they aren't ripe...and when they get ripe they disappear...weird, eh?!) Sorry the pciture is so poor but it was getting dark and I couldn't get a decent one.
And here are some pictures of my cherrys YUM!! Court didn't want any so I put them in the fridge and ate them all myself...so GOOD!!
And here is one of the two that got destroyed. :) I just thought you might like to see it...hehe
Well, hope you enjoyed the mini tour of the outside of my house! Once little man makes his appearance I promise pictures of actual people...one in particular! :)

more....WOW!!

:) I feel like I am on a roll or something so I shall leave you with a few more pictures before I head downstairs to try and cool off. :)

So here are some random pictures of May!!! :)
This is what I looked like in May of this year...and no that is not my belly button sticking out. Although it has changed and become weird it doesn't stick out. It is pretty flat though, now!

This is our fireplace (after a quick paint job by awesome mom Barndt) it's very cute, I must say!! hehe
This is the front of our house although the white plants you see in pots are now just green stalks due to windstorms and bad watering on my part...oops! And the rhody is now just a green thing...I love them when they bloom but when they're done...let's just say...UNATTRACTIVE!!

This is the only redeeming quality of the gnarly crab apple out front...the blooms come spring. :)

And then this is paint samples on our bedroom wall. We ended up going with the middle one...something teal. :) It's really cute!!

So, anyways hope you like my random pictures...I'll try to get on again and throw some more up! I just took some tonight around the outside of the house...and I shall try to throw them on here tomorrow!! :)
Night my friends!

Pictures...

So I just realized that the a long time ago I teased you guys with this post...and then never gave you the pictures of the actual people! So the people whose pictures I took that day were Laura and Brian Barr.. although only one of them was a Barr at the time...because those were my sisters engagement pictures!!

So here are a couple pictures that I took of them back in December!!

soooo big!!!

I found myself thinking today that I felt as big as a house, and then I realized that I really was somebody's house!! :) That makes me feel good!! :)

I really have gotten HUGE in the last couple weeks and today marks the beginning of the eighth month!! I am 32 weeks today!!  He is getting quite big in there and you can almost find a body part sticking out. For those of you who have never felt somebody poke their elbow, knee, hand, foot, bum, etc out while in your stomach, let me just tell you that it is sometimes quite uncomfortable. At times it kind of tickles, at other times it is just plain distracting, other times uncomfortable feeling (like really stretched), and sometimes when your stomach muscles are sore it can either feel like a painful massage (just on the other side of the muscles), or just painful. :)

He is head down already though which is a good thing, because he won't go flipping around becoming breech, which could complicate things for us a little bit. The only problem with him being head down is he can now stick his feet into my ribs! :) Although another favorite is trying to stick his bum under them...which doesn't feel that great!! :)

We are trying to work our way quickly through Laura's wedding pictures so that we can get some online for people to view but what with Court and I getting completely moved over to our house last week and Marianne having misc things needing to be attended to I am not quite sure when it we will actually get them finished!

 Anyways, I better go...love, Lynn...and little man!!

hectic...

I remember when I got married and life suddenly seemed busy and hectic. When you weren't working there always seemed to be something else that required your attention.  It was a lot different from the laid back life of a young adult still living at home. But eventually I became used to it, and even though it still seemed to have it's hectic moments it really wasn't as hectic as it had seemed at the beginning. Well now that we have progressed to the next step of buying a home and having a child, life has once again stepped up its pace. I am viewing my life as busy and hectic again, and I now that eventually it will settle down and I'll get used to be being a little busier. Although when little man comes it is probably going to start the cycle over. :)

So yes we signed final papers on our house on the 30th of April and received our keys. It was a very exciting evening! Let me tell you, if you ever need real estate agents in this area let us know and we'll give you the numbers for the men that helped us. They were amazing!! Paying for the insulation under the house out of their own pockets, bringing us housewarming gifts when we moved in, always being there if we needed to talk, funny, eager to help, easy to be around, always looking out for your best interests, and just downright AMAZING!!! :)

Having a home has been a lot of work, but well worth it. I love not having neighbor kids on my patio, or playing loudly RIGHT outside. Although we still have neighbors to deal with, it helps that they aren't right there in your business all the time. We are still on the hunt for some dressers, and a changing table/dresser...so if you hear of any one getting rid of something let us know!! :)
I'll try to post some pictures of the place before long.

Now on the Little Man....we have picked out a full name for him, but have decided to tell only parents and siblings for now. I am hoping to keep the name a surprise until he comes but I guess we'll see. :)
He has been growing at a rapid rate lately, and I find myself really looking forward to the end. It is getting harder to sleep for very long at one time because he moves around a lot the minute he knows I am resting. He also likes to make me go to the restroom many times during the night. :) We were giving a new due date...July 30th...and while it is only two days different then the old one I like it a lot better because I can say that he is due at the end of July. :) Plus two days makes a big difference when you are counting weeks! :) Today I am now 30 weeks!!! :) Wow!!! That means only ten more weeks. I CAN'T WAIT!!! :)

On to other news, my friend Marianne and I finally got our photography business off the ground  (although we still have to get our website up and running). We shot Laura's wedding with a little help from Marianne's mom, Linda Foster. It was VERY stressful, and very hard...but we loved it, and really want to do it again. :) We didn't get some of the shots we wanted just because of time restraints  (people weren't ready on time) but we still got some great shots and for that I am grateful. :)

Well, anyways I better get off...hope you are all having a good week!!!
